GoodParts is a voice journal inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS). Talk for a minute or up to half an hour. It transcribes what you said, gently names the parts it hears, such as a manager, an exile or a firefighter, and shows you how they move together over weeks, not just minutes.

What it does

Each part gets a role from the IFS taxonomy, a description in your own vocabulary, and a list of every entry it spoke in. You can rename any part, and merge two that turn out to be the same. Self is never catalogued as a part, because it isn’t one. Alongside parts, GoodParts keeps the people, places and situations you mention, and insights drawn across entries rather than from any single one.

Parts work normally needs either a therapist in the room or a lot of discipline with a paper notebook. A notebook will hold anything, but it won’t notice that the voice you called “the planner” in March is the same one you called “the fixer” in June.
Clinicians and therapists
For the days between sessions, a client can bring in a structured record: named parts, dated appearances and the words they actually used at the time. You see nothing unless they export it and hand it over. We don’t offer a clinician programme yet; get in touch and tell us what would help.
GoodParts is not therapy, not a therapist and not a crisis service.
How it is different
- Speaking beats typing. Someone in the middle of a feeling will talk for four minutes but won’t type for four minutes.
- The pattern is the product. The catalog of parts built across your entries is what grows in value.
- No streaks, no scores. There is no chain to keep, because pressure to journal is exactly the manager-part pull this work is meant to loosen.
What happens to what you say
- Your recording is transcribed in the cloud, and onboarding tells you so before you record. Our copy is deleted after transcription (best-effort). Our transcription provider may still hold a copy until its own retention period ends, and our account with it is opted out of model training.
- Only the text is sent for analysis, never the audio. Your words are not used to train the models GoodParts sends them to.
- App lock is one toggle: your face, fingerprint or device passcode before entries open.
- Export everything whenever you like. Leaving has no tier gate.
